SPEAKER:

HAMID ASSIAN
KEVIN B. ANDERSON

In the coming days, we will continue to demonstrate and speak out in opposition to the chillingly reactionary turn in US politics and to defend our sisters and brothers who are coming under attack.  It is also of prime importance for members and friends of the IMHO to come together to reflect upon why the US has come to this, and how Trump’s authoritarian nationalism represents a turn away from neoliberalism that reflects a new and dangerous stage of global capitalism.

Lilia D. Monzo teaches at Chapman University, where she uses Marxist-Humanist and decolonial approaches to confront capitalism and imperialism, racism, and the hyper-exploitation of women of color, while envisioning a socialist alternative. She has published in such journals as POSTCOLONIAL DIRECTIONS IN EDUCATION and TRUTHOUT.

Hamid Assian is an environmental and anti-racist activist in the Los Angeles area; he is a member of the Converging Storms Action Network (CSAN)

Kevin B. Anderson teaches at UC-Santa Barbara.  He is has written widely on Marxism, critical theory, and on race and gender, and is the author of MARX AT THE MARGINS: NATIONALISM, ETHNICITY, AND NON-WESTERN SOCIETIES and the coeditor of the ROSA LUXEMBURG READER.
